Xvid Encoding:
Xvid encoding also suffers from the memory issue, taking an extra 50 seconds over ~20 minutes to transcode an Mpeg into Xvid. Again, the Crossfire solution runs a few seconds faster than the single card solution.
Audio Compression / Decompression:
MP3 encoding performance from .wav files on the ECS KA3 MVP using both the Intel and Microsoft compilers is almost identical to the other boards tested. Again, we see that CrossFire is ever-so-slightly faster than a single card, and the Intel compiler is a surprisingly a second faster than the Microsoft, on the ECS board, considering that we're using AMD CPUs.
There is a slight second or two overhead when using CrossFire over a single card on the KA3 MVP board, although single card performs on par with the majority of the other system set-ups tested when decoding MP3 files into .wav.
